Cow manure can be problematic. Grass fields where cows graze might be sprayed with an herbicide to kill weeds. The herbicide is passed on through the manure. If so, the passed herbicide will kill your plants. First signs are wilted leaves. If you use cow manure, test it on some other plant to see if it is affected.
