Auction FAQ

Do I need a license to use the auction?

Yes. To participate you need a valid, good-standing cannabis license issued by the Cannabis Control Division of the state of New Mexico.

What are the tax rules?

All transactions happen independently of the NMCE. That means all sales are subject to the same state and federal taxes you’d pay in a typical wholesale cannabis transaction.

How do the auctions work?

To buy or sell, you need to create an account.

You can get a detailed breakdown of how the auctions work on the How it Works page.

Are there any fees?

Both buyers and sellers pay an annual membership fee and a small transaction fee upon auction completion.

How do I report an issue?

We’re available by phone Monday – Friday 8 am-5 pm at (575) 295-4686, or shoot us an email 24/7 on our Contact page

How do I find a dispensary near me?

Head over to our dispensary directory to find a shop in your area.

Can I purchase cannabis through this website?

The short of it: no. The long of it: technically this site doesn’t sell cannabis. We’re brokers who enable external wholesale transactions between licensed New Mexico cannabis businesses.

That means that if you’re a consumer—and not a licensed cannabis business—you can’t participate in the auctions. That said, you can head over to our dispensary directory and find your nearest shop.

What can I do to make my listing more successful?

We can’t stress this enough: include high-quality images. Remember, your buyers would normally be inspecting the flower in person. Don’t use stock images or images from the internet – use real photos of your real stock. If you’re selling flower, use closeups of the buds, not the packaging. The higher the photo quality, the better the chance your item will sell (and at a better price).

Make your listing as readable and appealing as possible. Mention the terpene profile, flavor, or genetics. Be funny. Tell a quick story. Add a fun fact. Include a testimonial from a happy customer. Write whatever you think captures the item in its best light – just make sure it’s true.

Include all the technical information about your product. This includes your business license number, cannabinoid potency, certificates of analysis, product name and category, growing method (indoor/outdoor/greenhouse), date harvested, and date available.

What can I sell at the auction?

Any cannabis flower or derived product: cannabis and hemp flower, trim, clones, seeds, cuttings, edibles, drinkables, concentrates, full-spectrum oils, isolate oils, distillates, waxes, tinctures, topicals, capsules, vaporizer cartridges, and CBD products.

Is there a return policy?

All sales are final on the NMCE side. If you’re unhappy with a product for any reason, visit our Contact page and we’ll do our best to resolve the issue.
